swatch and repeat

Yay! I've officially completed my very first interview as a designer! Soooo exciting!

Jen from www.swatchandrepeat.com  contacted me not too long ago to see if I was interested in collaborating with her on this. I immediately said yes!

I think it's fabulous that no matter where we are in the world, we can be brought together by the click of a button. There is so much genuine support and encouragement in surface pattern design. I feel fortunate to have had many great experiences over the past year.

Jen's site is super cool. You will find valuable insight through the varied features she does with selected designers. You'll also see Jen sharing her own beautiful patterns and handy tips. It's a great place to visit and 'soak' up while enjoying a good cup of tea.

I really love to hear different designers perspectives on life and pattern. It's both inspiring and refreshing.

If you haven't already, you will find Jen on Instagram and you can read my interview here.

Have a great week everyone! Stay inspired!

Thanks Jen, wishing you the very best! :) <3 <3

Sam began her creative journey as a young child with a love for colorful acrylics and folksy style imagery. Creating whimsical and happy art has since become part of her regular process. Currently exploring watercolor and gouache as mediums, she's always seeking new challenges that will help her grow as an artist.

Sam's illustrations have been featured at Print & Pattern and Swatch & Repeat. They have also been published in both Uppercase and Teen Breathe magazine.

Art doesn't stop at illustration or painting for this quirky gal. New textile art will be available this year!

The one thing that you will find ties all of her work together is her originality and the way that she executes each piece. There's a ton of love and care that goes into it all, down to the very last detail.

Sam finds gratitude in every day that she has another opportunity to make more art and create pretty things for a living. A favorite spot to sit and ponder future projects is her garden. Unless it happens to be winter, in which case you will find her at her desk, wrapped up in a warm sweater, sipping a large cup of tea.

Besides the creative stuff, Sam loves taking naps, hanging out at the beach and Netflix binging. Currently, she resides in Pitt Meadows, BC with her husband, their three daughters and fur babies, Pepper and Nick.
